Newsletter Highlights

The following are highlights from the Township's latest newsletter from the Winter 2001 issue of the Roxbury Report.  A complete copy is available by calling .

Dog and cat licenses are due during the month of January. For information, please call the Health Department at .  

TRASH AND RECYCLING ROUTES TO CHANGE JANUARY 1, 2001

Due to the significant increase in new homes, a collection route will be added on Fridays in an effort to make the garbage and recycling collection more balanced and efficient.  Only a small percentage of residents will be affected by this change, which will take effect on January 1, 2001.All effected residents will have received a letter indicating their new collection day.   All other htmlects of the sanitation and recycling program will remain the same. A newsletter was included with the Township calendar. If you did not receive the information that you need, please call and we will be happy to send you a brochure. 

Please remember that in the event of inclement weather, a priority will be placed on the collection of trash.Please hold your recyclables until the next scheduled collection day or utilize our recycling center.

Leaf /Grass bags are available at the Municipal Building, Recreation Center and the Library for  $.25 each. These bags may also be used for the disposal of holiday wrappings. Please clearly mark the bags   "Paper Products" if you wish to place them at curbside for collection.

Collection Holiday

Monday, December 25 - No collection for routes 1 & 2.  Trash only will be collected on Tuesday, December 26.

Monday, January 1, 2001 - No collection for routes 1 & 2. Trash only will be collected on Tuesday, January 2.

Monday, February 19, 2001  -  No collection for routes 1 & 2. Trash only will be collected on Tuesday, February 20.

RECYCLING CENTER NOW IN KENVIL

The Roxbury Recycling Center has moved to a new facility in Kenvil. The new facility allows for safer and better organized use by employees and residents.   It also allows for the Township to offer free compost and mulch to residents.   The center is located off of North Dell Avenue which is the fourth traffic light from the Route 10 and Route 46 intersection, going east. Make a left onto North Dell Avenue and continue on approximately 1 mile. The recycling center is located on your right.  Please check it out and feel free to offer your comments.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are desperately needed for all three fire and first aid companies in Roxbury. Please call to be referred to the company in your area.  Help us to help you in an emergency !

Roxbury Arts Alliance

The Roxbury Arts Alliance is a volunteer community group brought together in a common appreciation and a desire to bring the arts to the Township.   Our "Evening with the Classics", a program with an emphasis on classical music, will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at 3:00 pm in the Roxbury High School Auditorium.  For further information please call or visit our web site at community,nj.com/cc/raa.

The Roxbury Township Public Library will be celebrating their 40th anniversary on May 6, 2001 from 2 to 5 pm. Please watch for upcoming details.
